In this 21st century, the world is searching for solutions to the environmental, resources and energy problems.
Chemistry has been progressing by elucidating the natural phenomena and contributes to the development of various new materials such as medical supplies, synthetic fibers, cosmetics and plastics, which are prerequisite materials to our life.
Biotechnology, which explains life phenomena on a molecule level, develops quickly and came to have the close relation to chemistry and/or physics. Therefore, it attracts attention also in the field of material production.
Applied chemistry and Biotechnology is a vibrant department with a full and complete program at both undergraduate and graduate levels of study.
This department intends to devise the fusion of Biotechnology and Applied
Chemistry aiming at the development of a new technology for new era.
